June 29 2014 Trailcelebrations and planting day.
The Brooklyn Residents Action Group (BRAG) would like to invite you, along with your family, friends and colleagues, to a very special day along Federation Trail. On this day we are to celebrate the completion of the BRAG Federation Trail Development Project that is developing a section of the shared bicycle / walking trail, a part of which links to Werribee along the full length of the Federation Trail and to Caroline Springs along the Kororoit Creek corridor to Brimbank.
This event is to be conducted on Sunday 29 June 2014, commencing at 10am, and is coupled with National Tree Day, when members of the Brooklyn community along with employees of local industries and their families are expected to attend. This event is more than a tree planting day; it is a major celebration of the Federation Trail and brings together the local community with our sponsors and supporters.
Some of the activities on the day include:
- The planting of approximately 500 indigenous trees and shrubs;
- Our resident clown, Edvardo and his accordion, on site to entertain the attendees and hand out lollies and chocolate goodies to the children;
- Entertainment for the children including face painting, tee shirts and colouring books;
- Free tea, coffee, etc and hot food made available during the course of the morning catered by the Altona Lions; and
- A free BBQ sponsored by Bakers Delight and Cedar Meats Australia.
Parking at the west end of Old Geelong Road in Brooklyn – Melway Reference 40; G 10.
You can promote this event by distributing this poster to friends and/or work colleagues, or attach it to the window in your car.
